*A message for parents/carers: changes to school day for new academic term 2021/2022*
Welcome to Thornley Primary School
Thornley Primary School…where we all shine like stars!
Thank you for visiting our school website.
At Thornley Primary School our priority is to provide our pupils with a safe, welcoming environment where they can enjoy learning and where they love to be. Our motto says that “we can all shine like stars” and this shows that we value all kinds of successes here and celebrate the achievements of all pupils whatever they may be.
Our staff reflect the aims and values of the school. They are warm, welcoming and caring. They are also very hard working and talented, enabling the school to achieve consistently high results.
The main aim we share with pupils is “Work hard, be kind” which we feel encompasses the most important areas of school life.
If you are considering our school please contact us and view or download our school brochure which contains details on admissions and our curriculum and our learning. We understand that choosing a school for your child is an important decision and so we welcome and encourage visits to our school in order that you to make the right choices.
If you are a parent or a carer of a pupil at our school please visit our information for parents along with our newsletters to find out what we have been doing this school year along with how we are performing as a school.
We strive to communicate with parents and carers as effectively as possible and do so using regular newsletters, Facebook updates and our new parent app called ‘OurSchoolsApp’ which can be downloaded from the app store and which we use to make regular updates about events in school. http://www.ourschoolsapp.com
If the information you require is not available, please contact the school and we will do our best to help.
If you have any ideas on how we could improve our website then please contact Mrs Watt or Mrs Tateson at school.
